Firefly Online: Keep Flying

Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free,
You can't take the sky from me.

It's been years since we had anything new in the Firefly world. There's books and T-shirts, but none of them are the same as the show!

The hit TV series (which only lasted one season but exploded on DVD), earned itself a movie follow up, but we haven't heard much since. If you're new to the verse, here's a short breakdown of the way things are.

It's the future, and Western and Eastern cultures have finally merged. The government has been dumping settlers on far off planets faster than they can cope, and some of those people want their freedom. Between their treatment of the people and their secret experiments, the Alliance is crossing the wrong lines.

Space cowboys fight back in their own way, and in this world, the smugglers and outlaws tend to be the heroes. Unfortunately, not every criminal has a sense of purpose and working against the Alliance throws you in with some distinctly unlovely creatures. It's hard to just keep flying.

The last we heard, Mal (the captain of Serenity) had released the hidden video report, showing the people that the government had been using them for experiments- and had created the Reavers (maddened rapists, that do everything to a person from tear them apart to wear them afterwards). It was a win for the Independents, but they were still in danger.

Enter Firefly Online. It's still in it's Beta version, I'm just accessing it and got cleared to try and download my big damn hero pack. In a Beta- expect bugs, crashes and other technical issues. But participating helps get the game going.
